We are the champions! (again)

Great news--yesterday, our women's basketball team won the WNCAA championships for the Senior B division! Despite being down by one point when there were only eight seconds left on the clock, we ended the game with a three-point lead at 56-53. That's a back-to-back win after the volleyball team also grabbed the top spot last Oct. 11.

Apart from winning the championships, our women's volleyball and basketball team members also garnered several awards. The following volleyball players were named to the mythical selection: Gianne Gonzales, Masteral Student in MScM as Best Blocker; Rina Roxas, Junior EM Student as Best Tosser; Angel Yu, Senior IMC Student as Best Receiver; and Selina Artadi, a Freshman CAS student as MVP for Women's Volleyball Division B. In basketball, two of our players were named to the mythical selection, namely, Rosc Teotico, Senior IMC Student (at the Center position) and Ara Biolena, Junior EM Student (at the Forward position). Also, Ara was awarded the Most Valuable Player award for Women's Basketball Division B.

We hope you can congratulate the teams by posting a message here:

Let's celebrate!

OAA has a (cute) new office! We're now located in ALB 1F, across the Clinic. As Filipino customs go, we'd like to invite our alumni for a little celebration: ribbon cutting, office blessing, and of course, a hefty merienda on Oct. 17, 4:00-7:00 PM. We're also going to take this chance to update you about the goings-on in UA&P and its plans for the future (trust us, you'd want to hear this one!). We'll raffle off UA&P goodies as well so bring your business card! And since our women's volleyball team recently won a championship, we'll give the wine toast to them, plus to the basketball team who will vie for the title the following day. Want to come? Simply fill out the form below or e-mail us at alumni (at) uap.asia.
