An invitation to the Applied Business Economics Program (ABEP)

Dear UA&P Alumni,

As an alumnus of UA&P, we trained you to think fast on your feet without losing sight of your long-term goals. This is evident in today's intensely competitive business environment. Flexibility is important to survival, but so is strategic thinking.

By now you must have had more than a year of relevant work experience. You fully appreciate the importance of striking a balance between application and planning in business. To cultivate a happy balance between tactical and strategic thinking, a good grasp of principles of planning is critical. Your intense liberal arts background would help you make essential plans. Your global and historical perspectives would aid you to make sound decisions. Your knowledge of ethical and social dimensions would assist you to make just judgments. But emphasis must also be given to how a plan is carried out. Also, knowledge about the right application techniques is important.
ABEP is for you. It is a graduate program designed for young working professionals. It is where economics gets down to business.

ABEP is the best blend of business and economics. Through the program you will be able to monitor the environment and analyze industries. You will be aware of and sensitive to the economic issues confronting the nation and industries. You will be able to apply economic and business research techniques. You will develop problem-solving skills. You will have a basic appreciation of quantitative tools.
